Fosters, FOSTERS, Fosters... We need your help.
The rescue has grown at a rate above and beyond what we ever could have imagined. It’s a fabulous thing and adds a great deal of responsibilities of the board members. We are asking for some continued help.
****Yes this is a bit long but all VERY CRUCIAL information, so please read the ENTIRE message****
As a foster we are expecting the following to keep the rescue running, dogs cared for and give our pups the best chance at finding their FURever home…….
1. A PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS
Once your foster dog has settled in, please send updated photos, videos, and a biography of your pup to [email protected]. All of our pups are advertised on our website, petfinder.com, adoptapet.com, facebook and instagram. Keeping the pictures and information on the dog fresh and new is VITAL to helping them find their humans. We have found that video offers a great way for people to see our pups in action and often attracts more viewers. 2. HAVE FUN FUNDRAISING Participate and attend fundraisers whenever possible. We are a 100% donation based organization, we ONLY have funds when we have successful fundraisers or we receive generous donations. Your support in spreading the word(via facebook, emailing friends and family, texting friends and family and verbally spreading the word is vital).(-That being said if you want to organize your own fundraiser please do so. We have had a few fosters hold home parties, paint parties, proceeds night at Chick-Fil-A for their friends and family and donate the proceeds to the rescue. That is awesome, we appreciate the effort and it takes a little bit of burden off of our shoulders. If you do this please remit the donation to the rescue within 15 days of the close of the fundraiser.) 3. ACTIVE NETWORKING Attend network and adoption events, these event are critical to helping our dogs find homes. There is nothing like the connection that can be made when people are meeting the dogs. |
4. COMMUNICATION IS KEY
Please keep us updated with how your foster is doing, we often get bogged down with new dogs coming in the rescue, medical needs, and daily rescue activities in addition to our jobs and families. It will be a HUGE help if you could use this form to update us on your foster every 2-3 weeks. https://goo.gl/forms/ DVxA2q3zBg4E6k762 5. BE TECH SAVVY Advertise your dog on social media. Please post pictures, videos and updates as much as possible. When posting please “check in” at J&Co Dog Rescue and include the adoption application link in ALL posts - http://jandcorescue.weebly. com/application.html. This will put your post on our facebook page, allowing ALL of our followers to see your dog. The more people that see your dog the better chances of adoption. 6. EVERY SUPPLY COUNTS! As you all know many of our dogs have medical concerns, Often times we find dogs being switched to new medications or given supplies needed to care for your dog. Please be sure to send any UNUSED medications or supplies to the rescue as soon as possible. We try to keep a stock of medication and supplies, to keep costs down. This way, when the doctor orders medication we can use what we have on hand before purchasing new items. |
If you have any questions please reach out to us! For most of the volunteers listed below, text and email are easier as well all have full times jobs and children.
