J & Co rescue is small rescue dedicated to making a big difference in the lives of dogs who need a second chance. We take in special need dogs that the shelter cannot provide medical care for. Without our help these dogs would be put down. You can also support our mission by donating or purchasing wish list items. Give dogs like Shay a second chance at a happy life with a fur-ever family!

J & Co 2016 Stats

Adoptions

59 Dogs came into our care in the year 2016
29 Dogs were adopted into loving homes
At the end of 2016, 30 dogs remained in foster homes awaiting adoption
90% Live release rate

J & Co. Rescue gives every dog in our care the medical treatment needed to make a full recovery & available for adoption. However, because we take in such medically fragile dogs & dogs requiring hospice care, a small percentage have passed away or were humanely euthanized to end their suffering. This percentage is probably higher than the average rescue, but many of our dogs are in a very critical state when leaving the shelter.

8% of the dogs adopted were <1 year old
92 % of the dogs adopted were >1 year old
100% of the dogs we rescued in 2016 came from high intake/inner city shelters or were owner surrenders
FOSTER PROGRAM
66 dogs  were in foster homes in 2016
7 dogs continue to receive medical support within their hospice foster home
38 volunteers opened their home to foster a dog in 2016

VOLUNTEERS
49 active volunteers (including the 38 Foster homes)
8,240 hours were donated by volunteers (this # does not include the time donated by foster families with their care of their foster dog)

DONATION PROGRAMS
A total of $38,400 was raised in 2016 through grants, fundraising events & direct donations toward the care of medically urgent dogs. The generosity of our donors and the success of our fundraisers allows us to continue saving the dogs most in need.
